Huang Weidong is the General Manager and Technical Director of UPDIS. He is the Vice Director of Urban Renewal Committee of China Urban Planning Society, expert of Xiong'an New Area Planning Review Expert Group, Vice Chairman of Historical Protection and Utilization Committee of Guangdong Urban Planning Association, Director of "Planning Expert Working Committee" of Shenzhen Exploration & Design Association, expert of Shenzhen Decision-making Advisory Committee, and member of Qianhai Planning and Construction Professional Advisory Committee. He was awarded the title of the first "Top 10 Young Planners of Shenzhen's Survey and Design Industry" and "Shenzhen Government Special Allowance Expert".

He has led and participated in more than 300 planning and research projects, which achieved numerous excellent outcomes in planning, design and technological research, and won more than 40 international, national, provincial and city-level awards. Among them are: 1 international planning and design award, 1 Science and Technology Progress Award from China Planning Society, 2 China Awards for Science and Technology in Construction, and more than 10 national urban-rural planning and design excellence awards. He is committed to the research of people-centric urban planning and design concepts and technical methods, actively advocates for multi-disciplinary planning practice in urban comprehensive solutions, and has made outstanding contributions to Shenzhen's high-quality urban planning, design and renewal. Also, he has authored 13 publications, owns 1 patent right, and dozens of academic papers in national professional journals. He led the "Urban Renewal Spatial Unit Planning Guidelines" (national standards) and authored "Shenzhen Urban Renewal Exploration and Practice".
