This Center focuses on new theoretical and systems studies for integrated disaster prevention, mitigation, and resilient urban-rural development. It is engaged in the research and development of key technologies for disaster prevention and resilience cities, as well as providing resilience planning, design practices, and emergency management-related support at macro-, meso- and micro-levels, offering multi-perspective, multi-dimensional, and multi-layered integrated disaster prevention, mitigation, planning, design, and emergency management-related research and professional services to national and local governments, research institutions and development entities.

Based on theories and methods of high-density livable cities, mega-city health assessments, and community governance, this center aims to establish a comprehensive "industry-academia-research" institution for livable cities, serves as a think-tank for governments, and acts as an open platform for international exchanges and cooperation on livable cities.
