Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone is a pilot demonstration zone for Guangdong Province to explore regional coordinated development in the new era, which covers a land area of 468.3 square kilometers and a marine management area of 1,152 square kilometers. The Zone is about 100 kilometers away from the center of Shenzhen and has mountainous terrain. The Master Plan conforms to National Territorial and Spatial Planning reform, particularly in the dynamic period when relevant ideas and technical standards have yet to be defined. It actively explores technical methods for the area's transformation from urban and rural planning to territorial and spatial planning, and plans innovative pathways for ecological civilization protection and high-quality development of Shenzhen's "new enclave".
