Bandar Malaysia is a large-scale city redevelopment project in the central city of Kuala Lumpur where the terminal station of the proposed Singapore-Malaysia high speed railway shall be located. To maximize its development opportunities as well as introduce sufficient open space into the site, UPDIS creates a super transportation hub and a near zero-carbon garden with rainforest habitat characteristics, which encourages a public life network that conforms to multiple ethnic groups from the local communities, by proposing the urban design concept of a ‘magnetic city center and an international complex’ integrating commercial, financial, industrial and residential development.
